Senior Account Manager


MIR Group is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Account Manager to be based at the Head Office in Jakarta

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met and maintained.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, providing high-quality service and support.
    • Address client concerns, provide solutions, and offer advice on insurance products and services.
  2. Insurance Program Management:
    • Manage and review clients' insurance portfolios, ensuring that coverage is adequate, policies are up to date, and risks are properly assessed.
    • Develop customized insurance programs that meet the unique needs of individual or corporate clients, including risk assessments and strategic solutions.
  3. Business Development:
    • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional insurance products to existing clients.
    • Actively seek new business opportunities to expand the client base, generate leads, and secure new accounts.
  4. Coordination with Underwriters and Insurers:
    • Negotiate with insurance underwriters to obtain the best possible coverage terms and rates for clients.
    • Work closely with insurers to manage renewals, endorsements, claims, and any special client requests.
  5. Team Leadership and Mentoring:
    • Supervise and guide junior staff, such as Account Executives and Claims Staff, providing them with mentorship and leadership in managing accounts.
    • Oversee and coordinate with the support team to ensure smooth client service delivery.
  6. Renewal Management:
    • Proactively manage the renewal process by reviewing existing policies, negotiating terms, and presenting renewal proposals to clients well before policy expiration.
    • Conduct policy reviews to identify gaps in coverage and suggest improvements.
  7. Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Keep up with market trends and industry developments, including changes in regulations, new insurance products, and pricing strategies.
    • Use market insights to adjust strategies and ensure clients receive the most relevant and competitive coverage.
  8. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present reports on client accounts, business performance, and sales targets to management.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all client interactions, policy details, and transactions in the brokerage’s system.
  9. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all insurance programs comply with local regulations, particularly those set by the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) in Indonesia.
    • Advise clients on regulatory requirements and help them manage risk in compliance with industry standards.

 

Requirements:

  1. Educational Background
    • Any Bachelor’s Degree is accepted
    • Professional Certifications: Holding certifications related to insurance, such as:
      • CIIB
      • LSPPI-BNSP Competencies Lev.7
  2. Experience
    • Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, especially in marketing, underwriting or in client management. Experience in managing accounts, particularly with corporate clients.
    • Experience in Insurance Brokerage: Experience working in an insurance brokers or dealing with complex insurance products is highly valued.
    • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead teams or manage a portfolio of clients, including large and complex accounts.
  3. Skills
    • Client Relationship Management: Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their insurance needs, and providing tailored solutions.
    • Sales and Business Development: Strong ability to identify business opportunities, develop new business, and drive revenue growth.
    • Technical Knowledge of Insurance Products: A deep understanding of insurance products, coverage, underwriting processes, and risk management solutions.
    • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate terms with insurers and clients effectively.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess client risks, analyze policies, and provide strategic advice.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in both Indonesian and English to handle diverse clients.
    • Insurance Placement Skills: Able to secure insurance placements from 30+ insurance companies. High-level understanding of Reinsurance backup (facultative/treaty) from each of the insurance companies.
  4. Regulatory Knowledge
    • Understanding of local insurance regulations, OJK rules, and compliance requirements for brokers industry.
